Editorial policy
Global Design Review aims to make design easier to understand without flattening its differences. We write with care about what is known, what is interpretation and what remains open to debate.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable sources and review names, dates and descriptions before publication. Articles should distinguish evidence from opinion and explain the context needed to understand an example. We avoid sweeping claims about cultures, places or audiences, and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers and the publication's subject, not as a condition of a commercial arrangement. Partners do not receive a promise of editorial coverage, favourable judgement or control over independent editorial content.
Corrections and reader questions
Readers can use the Contact page to identify a possible error or ask about our approach. We assess correction requests on their merits, check the underlying information and make an appropriate correction when needed. The relevant article should make a substantial correction clear.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported content is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. We identify relevant commercial relationships alongside that material. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, we label them as AI-generated and do not present them as documentary photographs.
Design makes more sense in context
A shape or object never tells the whole story on its own. We look at where it comes from, what it is for and how people make it their own.
