Write for us

Global Design Review welcomes considered pitches about design across places, practices and everyday life. We are interested in specific questions that help readers see how a design works, where it comes from or what it means in context.

What to pitch

Propose an original article about an object, graphic, place, design tradition or wider design idea. A good pitch names its central question, explains why it matters to general readers and shows what context the piece will provide. Comparison and history are welcome when they illuminate the subject rather than serve as decoration.

Make the case clearly

Tell us the proposed angle, likely structure, relevant experience with the topic and the sources you expect to consult. Explain what is distinctive about your approach. We value precise, readable writing, careful attribution and openness about uncertainty or limitations.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page to send your pitch. Choose the editorial question option and include your proposed title, focus and a brief outline. Please do not send a complete article unless it has been requested; a clear proposal is the best place to begin.

Our point of view

Design makes more sense in context

A shape or object never tells the whole story on its own. We look at where it comes from, what it is for and how people make it their own.
